Natural product company news of the week

A roundup of announcements from natural product companies this week, including American Humane certification for Handsome Brook Farm and a new collagen product from Jarrow Formulas.

Jarrow Formulas, a formulator and supplier of nutritional supplements, introduced Collagen Optimizer, which supports the development of collagen and supports skin elasticity with a synergistic combination of fish collagen peptides, Red Orange Complex H, JarroSil bioavailable silicon as well as vitamin C and niacinamide.

American Humane Association announced that Handsome Brook Farm has achieved certification through the American Humane Certified program for pasture-raised eggs. Handsome Brook Farm currently produces pasture-raised eggs on farms in New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Maryland, Kentucky and Virginia, and is the only egg provider certified by American Humane Association that is 100 percent pasture raised. Handsome Brook Farm Pasture Raised Eggs, in both organic and non-GMO options, are available through retailers at over 4,000 locations throughout the United States.

PLT Health Solutions Inc. announced the introduction of a water-soluble version of the company’s best-selling 5-LOXIN for joint health support. Called AquaLOX, the new ingredient is a potent Boswellia serrata extract documented to have a similar pharmacokinetic profile to 5-LOXIN – which has been clinically demonstrated to improve joint comfort and protect against cartilage degradation. In addition to being water-soluble, AquaLOX represents a major breakthrough with its pleasant taste profile, allowing – for the first time – the use of Boswellia serrata extract for taste-sensitive formulations such as chews, gummies, stick-packs, shots and more.

Probio’Stick, a probiotic formula (association of Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell®-52 and Bifidobacterium longum Rosell®-175 in a stick format) by Lallemand Health Solutions, has been recognized by the Canadian Health Authorities for its benefits on stress, anxiety and mood balance, becoming the first and only probiotic with approved health claims in the gut-brain axis area.

The launch of Probi Järn in Sweden by Probi’s partner Bringwell marks the beginning of products based on the Probi FerroSorb platform, which has been documented through five clinical trials showing a significant increase of iron absorption from a meal.
