TerraVia (Solazyme, Inc.) and Bunge Limited announced that they are launching native, whole algae DHA as a sustainable specialty feed ingredient, prioritizing the aquaculture market, which currently uses approximately $3 billion in omega-3 ingredients. AlgaPrime DHA will be produced at the companies’ SB Renewable Oils joint venture facility in Brazil, where full product scale-up was reached in late 2015.

For people who want a clean coffee kick to start their day, without forgoing the creamer, Tundalaya introduced Coconut Cloud, a dairy free, non-GMO, vegan, soy-free, gluten-free dried coconut milk product in a resealable pouch.

Sabra Dipping Company, makers of America's best selling refrigerated dips and spreads, has expanded its line of all natural guacamole with the launch of Veggie Fusions, a new concept in packaged guacamole. Veggie Fusions are made with Haas avocados blended with a variety of fresh cut, crisp and chunky vegetables, adding fresh flavor and reducing the overall fat content by 30 percent. Sabra Guacamole Veggie Fusions will launch with Mango Lime, Garden Vegetable, and South Western. 

New frozen products from Hilary's include three new flavors of veggie bites: Broccoli Casserole, Mediterranean and Spicy Mesquite—a special nod to Hilary’s Midwestern roots and the brand’s creative perspective on BBQ. The frozen bites product is versatile and easy to prepare as an appetizer, snack or an entree when served in a wrap or salad.

OLLY, a fast-growing nutrition company in the U.S., has launched a new children’s gummy vitamin featuring Wellmune, a natural immune health ingredient. The new product, OLLY Kids Mighty Immunity, combines the clinically-proven immune support of Wellmune along with acerola cherry, elderberry and zinc. 

Cardi-O-Mato, Lycored’s tomato-based heart health ingredient solution, has made its world debut in the retail market for dietary supplements. The formulation is a new daily food supplement manufactured and marketed by Vita Healthcare and launched in 412 Boots stores across the UK.

Embria Health Sciences has expanded the market for its fermented immune supplement ingredient EpiCor into central and eastern Europe with a new distribution agreement with Hermes Consilium. Through this agreement Hermes Consilium will be the exclusive sales agent for EpiCor within 10 countries—Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia.

Developed to help today's modern society sleep well and awake more refreshed, Youtheory Sleep Nighttime Powder is a lemon-lime flavored drink mix that contains a combination of calming magnesium and relaxing amino acids to help quiet the mind before sleep. Youtheory Sleep Nighttime Powder also supplies 0.3 milligrams of melatonin, a "physiological dose" that replicates the amount normally produced by the body each night.

Vital Essentials unveiled branded wooden display racks to showcase Vital Essentials freeze-dried food, snacks and treats. Stores have reported up to a 300 percent increase in freeze-dried product sales when VE display racks are utilized.

Ingredient solutions provider Ingredion announced two new additions to its line of functional clean label starches—NOVATION PRIMA 340 and 350—for extended cold shelf life stability in refrigerated, frozen and instant foods. 

Sabinsa Corp. has hit another important milestone for the shelf-stable probiotic LactoSpore with receipt of a “no questions” letter on Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) status from the US FDA.
