MycoTechnology, an innovative natural food technology company that uses mushrooms to improve the taste of everyday food and drinks, announced the first close of its Series A round on $9.2 million. The round involved participation from three venture capital firms: S2G (Seed 2 Growth) Ventures, Paris-based Seventure Partners, and Middleland Capital.

Human laboratory testing of Manzo Pharmaceuticals' exciting probiotic, Lacto-Freedom, has begun, in collaboration with Celprogen. Considered a nutritional supplement by the FDA, Lacto-Freedom has the potential of eliminating the symptoms of lactose intolerance, Manzo says.

Nordic Naturals has launched Postnatal Omega-3, a first-of-its kind product that targets the unique health needs of new moms. Named the “Official Postnatal Omega-3” of the American Pregnancy Association, the producted utilizes Nordic Naturals’ ultra-concentrated omega-3 oil that combines 80 percent EPA+DHA concentration with 90+ percent triglyceride form for optimal potency and absorption.

With the goal of providing vitamins to children and mothers in need, NeoCell has kicked off its annual fall campaign with Vitamin Angels. For every product it ships between October and December, the company will donate 25 cents to Vitamin Angels. Since the beginning of the partnership, NeoCell has raised more than $320,000 for Vitamin Angels.

Tofu purveyor House Foods introduced a new product, Tofu Cutlets, in three gluten-free and kosher flavors: Teriyaki, Asian BBQ and Spicy Garlic.

As the demand for plant-based protein ingredients continues to grow, AIDP unveiled three new protein ingredients: Sacha Inchi protein, Hemprotein and Wheatein, a gluten-free wheat protein.

The new frozen Fruit PLUS Vitamins from Rader Farms' takes its premium grade berries and adds nutrients sourced from whole fruits and vegetables to boost vitamin levels by 25 percent, without impacting taste or texture.

Mediterra, maker of all-natural nutrition bars inspired by the Mediterranean Diet, has added two new Savory Bar flavors: Kale/Pumpkin Seed and Bell Pepper/Green Olive.

Ready Pac Foods Inc. announced the launch of elevAte, a line of single-serve, non-GMO, organic, gluten free ready-to-eat superfood salad blends.

The newest recipe from Wellness Natural Pet Food is a natural dietary solution for cats to help prevent hairballs from forming. The natural recipe includes wholesome, savory protein sources cats will love like deboned chicken and turkey.
