Natural Products Association Installs New President, Board Members

The Natural Products Association installed its 2009-2010 board of directors, including its new president, during its 72nd annual trade show and convention, Natural MarketPlace, held last week in Las Vegas, Nev.

Long-time NPA member and independent retailer Pat Sardell, owner of Country Vitamins, Corvallis, Ore., was formally sworn in for a two-year term as association president on Saturday, July 11, during the association’s Annual Business Meeting. Sardell has served as a director on the Northwest regional and National boards since 1999 and as Retail Council Chairperson for two years. She is also locally active, serving on the board of directors for the Corvallis Independent Business Alliance (CIBA), which promotes family-owned, locally owned businesses in the community. Sardell succeeds Debra Short, co-owner of House of Health in Shawnee and Ada, Oklahoma. Short will serve a one-year term as past-president.

Carilyn Anderson from Carlson Labs, Arlington Heights, Ill., was sworn in as chair of the Supply Council; and Randy Reinartz of Wayne and Mary’s Nutrition Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. was re-elected to chair the Retail Council.
