Santa Barbara, Calif.-based New Sun Nutrition promoted Maigread Eichten, formerly chief operating officer, to president and chief executive officer. Dick Lamb, the company's founding CEO and major shareholder, will serve as nonexecutive chairman of the board.
Boulder, Colo.-based beverage company mix1 hired Robert Pinkerton as chief financial officer and COO. Pinkerton has more than 18 years of corporate development and executive-level finance experience. Monica McClintock, human resources director for Vernon, Calif.-based Albert's Organics, received the Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year award. McClintock was one of four winners out of more than 2,000 nominated HR professionals in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. McClintock has been in HR for more than 20 years, and joined Albert's Organics in 2004. Albert's Organics also hired Lucinda Moeller as promotions manager.

La Farge, Wis.-based Organic Valley's founding farmer and board president Wayne Peters was awarded the co-op's highest honor, the Ray Hass Organic Pioneer Award, at Organic Valley's 19th annual meeting. The award acknowledges the recipient's devotion to organic farming and to the cooperative. Peters and his two sons own and operate Peters Farm, an organic farm in Chaseburg, Wis.
