Bowling Green, Fla.-based manufacturer Organix-South, which produces TheraNeem and TheraVeda brands, hired herbalist Trinity Ava as director of education. Ava has more than 10 years of teaching experience, including courses in aromatic botanical medicine at the California School of Herbal Studies and Bastyr University.

Gary Messmore, formerly a senior territory manager for St. Augustine, Fla.-based distributor Tree of Life, was promoted to vice president of natural food sales for the company's southeast region. Messmore joined Tree of Life in 1987.

SoNu Beverages of New York appointed Scott Abramson as chief operating officer. Abramson has more than 20 years of experience in the beverage and sales industries. SoNu also hired Truman Frierson to lead the company's northeast U.S. regional sales efforts. Frierson has more than 10 years of experience.

Puyallup, Wash.-based AIBMR Life Sciences, a natural and medicinal products research institute, appointed Kathryn Millhorn as director of library services, Kathleen Jade as research associate and Sara Parent as research assistant. John Endres was promoted to director of research services and Amy Clewell was promoted to senior research associate. Carlson Laboratories, based in Arlington Heights, Ill., hired Christy Peck as advertising/marketing coordinator.

Needham, Mass.-based tortilla chip company FoodShouldTasteGood hired Gil Fronzaglia as vice president of operations. Fronzaglia has more than 20 years of operations experience, most recently as executive vice president of operations at IZZE Beverage Co.

Reed's Inc., the Los Angeles-based maker of Reed's Ginger Brew, hired David Kane as chief financial officer. Kane has more than 20 years of senior corporate finance experience in the distribution, entertainment and marketing industries.

DPI Specialty Foods' Midwest division, based in Arlington Heights, Ill., appointed Joe Plueger as director of grocery merchandising. Plueger was previously the director of kosher foods at Kehe Food Distributors.

BSP Pharma, based in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., named Kim Nagy vice president of natural sales, and Ron Secrist and Wilton Bell to serve the company's national sales initiatives for its joint formula supplement.

Boulder, Colo.-based household products company TWIST hired Matt Bauman as central regional sales manager. Bauman most recently was a mass market and food service account executive and field representative for broker Rocky Mountain Presence.

Numi Organic Tea, based in Oakland, Calif., appointed Sandra Arnold as vice president of sales. Arnold has more than 25 years of executive management experience, including 13 years in the health food industry.

Santa Cruz, Calif.-based nutritional supplements company Rainbow Light hired Tom Lonsway as vice president of sales, and Mark Post as vice president of business development. Lonsway was previously vice president of sales with Coromega Co. and Kashi Co. Post has held senior management positions at Nature's Bounty, Atkins Nutritionals and Garden of Life.
