Organic and Natural Health Association partners with annual Natur-Tyme event

The Organic and Natural Health Association is taking its consumer education efforts on the road as it partners with member retailers.

For its second event, April 23, it will join Natur-Tyme’s popular annual spring health fair in Syracuse, New York.

The speaker lineup, according to an ONHA press release, includes three-time New York Times best-selling author Dr. Joseph Mercola, as well as renowned internal and integrative medicine specialist Dr. Dana Cohen; renowned naturopathic and functional medicine doctor Geo Espinosa, ND; and pharmacist, author and media personality known to consumers nationwide as “The Herbal Pharmacist,” David Foreman, R.Ph.

The event partnership is part of ONHA’s new retail membership program.

"We plan to organize many more of these events," Karen Howard, ONHA CEO and executive, said via press release. "It’s important for us to provide more direct access for consumers to leading experts in the natural health industry so they can understand the value and science of nutrients and where to find them in retail stores."

Howard says the events—and retail membership—are key to the organization’s goal to represent the entire natural supply chain and educate consumers about the value and science of nutrients.

The event-driven focus is what Howard calls a "beautiful circle" providing benefit to the organization’s retail and supply members.

The first "The Power of Nutrients" consumer education event took place Oct. 1 at the California-based Lassens Natural Foods and Vitamins.

In addition to speaker education, ONHA is promoting omega-3 testing as part of its 2017 focus on advancing research and consumer education around this nutrient. Last year, it focused on vitamin D.

The Natur-Tyme Annual Health Extravaganza takes place at the New York State Fairgrounds. The Organic and Natural Health Association will stream speakers talks on Facebook Live from its page. Find its event page here.
