Gail Montgomery has resigned as director and officer of Nutrition 21 Inc., a Purchase, N.Y.-based manufacturer of chromium-based supplements.

In Provo, Utah, Pure Fruit Technologies, a nutritional juice supplement manufacturer and subsidiary of Morinda Holdings, hired Wayne Geilman, Ph.D., as director of product technologies and food science.

Bob Freeze was promoted to vice president of public relations at Lehi, Utah-based XanGo.

Integrated Marketing Group of Salt Lake City hired Miranda Barnard as senior public relations counsel and Nate Peterson as graphic designer.

Thomas B. Simone was named chairman of the board of directors for Dayville, Conn.-based United Natural Food Inc. Richard Antonelli, Daniel Atwood and Rick Puckett will assume broader roles for the company.

SunOpta Inc. appointed Steven Townsend to the board of directors. Townsend was formerly president, chief executive officer and chairman of United Natural Foods Inc.

Lowell Rheinheimer is the new regional pool coordinator of LaFarge, Wis.-based Organic Valley Family of Farms.
