Jarrow Industries, a nutritional supplements company, hired Brad Douglass, Ph.D., as a technical specialist and Lisa Schultz as a research associate. Previously, Douglass worked for KinetiChem Inc. where he developed chemistry applications for the company. Schultz has an information-technology background and a bachelor's degree in nutrition.

Sweetbay Supermarket, part of the Delhaize Group, promoted Steve Smith to senior vice president of merchandising. Smith joined the Tampa, Fla.-based supermarket in 2003 as vice president of marketing.

Enjoy Life Foods, based in Schiller Park, Ill., hired Jeffrey Thornberry as the new regional sales manager for gluten-free products. Thornberry previously worked as the Southeast regional sales manager for the Supermarket Division of United Natural Foods Inc.?

Stephen Holt, scientific adviser for the supplements company Nature's Benefit Inc., recently became president of the World Organization of Natural Medicine. The nonprofit organization promotes international missionary work focused on natural health care.

Phil Graham left the production department at Penton Media, which publishes The Natural Foods Merchandiser, to become the senior vice president for F + W Publications. Graham will oversee the publication of consumer hobby magazines in a broad variety of subjects.

Leadership of the Lundberg Family Farm, which grows organic rice, passed from Homer and Wendell Lundberg to cousins Ingrid and Alysicia Lundberg. The board of directors is now composed entirely of members from the third generation of the Lundberg family.

Natural-foods retail chain Earth Fare appointed Jack Murphy as CEO and president after former president Michael Cianciarulo resigned. Murphy was one of the founders of Fresh Fields Natural Grocery stores in the Northeast.

San Francisco-based Investor's Circle, a network of angel investors, professional venture capitalists and foundations, appointed Karyn Barsa as president. Formerly the CEO at Embark Stores Inc., she managed business-plan development, operations and funds sourcing.

Leonia, N.J.-based Solgar Vitamin and Herb, a nutritional supplements company, appointed James J. Gormley associate director of communications. Previously he served as the editor-in-chief of Better Nutrition magazine and editorial director of VRM Inc.

Cammie Muller left a position in senior financial management at Boulder, Colo.-based Wild Oats Markets to join Aurora Organic Dairy as its chief financial officer.
