Invented in a San Francisco apartment by a hungry startup coder, the Soylent shake powder is promoted as a replacement for eating. You can live on Soylent alone, the makers say. But would you want to? Journalists and bloggers have taken that as a dare and tasted or even tried to live on it. It turns out Soylent has all the nutrients you'd need and none of the taste you'd want.
