Transpecos Foods issues allergy alert on cheese bites products

 

Transpecos Foods, LP of Pecos, Texas is recalling the following items because they may contain undeclared Soy allergens:

People who have an allergy or sensitivity to Soy allergens run the risk of an allergic reaction if they consume these products.

  • Hill Country Fare Cream Cheese Jalapeno Bites, Net WT 5.5oz, 156g, UPC 4122081881, Sold Prior to 8/5/11, packaged in a carton that was distributed in Texas.

  • Hill Country Fare Cheddar Cheese Jalapeno Bites, Net WT 5.5oz, 156g, UPC 4122084088, Sold Prior to 8/5/11, packaged in a carton that was distributed in Texas.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered through an in-depth label review that product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of Soy allergens.

Concerned consumers that may have purchased any of the above listed products are encouraged to return the product to the place where it was purchased for a full refund.
