This week: Boxed Water, LunchSkins entrepreneurs honored | New omega-3 products

Carlson Labs announced via press release three new professional-strength omega-3 concentrates: Super Omega-3 (provides 2,600 mg of omega-3s per lemon-flavored teaspoonful); Elite DHA (2,270 mg of DHA in an orange-flavored teaspoonful) and Smart Catch for Teens (1,135 mg of DHA per half-teaspoonful). 

With new algae-sourced, GMO-free beta-glucan ingredients, Kemin expands into the global immune health market. BetaVia Complete is a nutrient-dense dried whole algae fermentate that provides nutritional support for a healthy immune system and general well-being. BetaVia Complete consists of more than 50 percent algae beta-glucans and more than 20 percent protein with essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Anlit Ltd. introduced Omega Bites under the Meijer supermarket's children's label. Omega Bites deliver 60 mg of highly concentrated DHA and 90 mg of EPA in a single, fish-shaped orange-chocolate flavored chewable for children. 

Daryn Kuipers, the CEO of Boxed Water is Better, was selected as one of the Grand Rapids Business Journal's 40 Under 40 top business leaders for 2017. Under his leadership, Boxed Water continues to lead the sustainably packaged water category and has committed to planting more than 600,000 trees to give back to the planet.

Hain Celestial announced the appointment of Julie Bowerman as senior vice president, digital engagement and ecommerce. She has more than 20 years' experience at The Coca-Col Company in various marketing, commercial and digital roles.

The mother and entrepreneur behind environmentally conscious company LunchSkins, Kristen Quigley, has won a Bethesda Green Award, which is given to businesses and products with a significant impact in the local community of Bethesda, Maryland, and beyond. Quigley launched LunchSkins to create sustainable alternatives to plastic sandwich and snack bags, which are major contributors to the plastic pollution epidemic.

Deerland Enzymes & Probiotics earned Non-GMO Project verification for ProHydrolase, its enzyme blend for protein digestion. This is the company's third product to earn verification, according a press release.

Probiotic pioneer Natren launches a "Locally Grown" campaign to educate consumers about the probiotic products produced in Southern California and the benefits of a locally sourced diet. Natren recently broke ground on a new manufacturing facility that will increase its production capacity by 5,000 percent. 

Market development expert Mark Matyazic joins the growing Euromed USA team and Western regional sales manager.
