This week: Brands team for shelf-stable, plant-based pouch meals | Saffron Road adds simmer sauces

Fast-growing frozen food brand Blake's All Natural announced the addition of two new gluten-free comfort meals: Turkey & Uncured Bacon Cottage Pie and Turkey Shepard's Pie.

Soylent has a new president—Bryan Crowley, former chief strategy officer at KeVita who helped lead the company to a successful sale to PepsiCo in December of last year. At Soylent, Crowley will be responsible for day-to-day operations, financial performance and the development and deployment of Soylent's business and people strategy.

Family-owned vegan food company GoMacro announced a new hire and several new brand initiatives at its family-owned farm in Viola, Wisconsin. After 25 years of private brand and international food sales and marketing business development, Mike Hackbarth, former VP of private brand at The Fremont Company, is starting a management consulting company called International Expertise Inc., that will help executives understand the domestic and/or private brand industry. The company will also partner with clients to improve or develop strategic business plans and new business.
