Weider Global Nutrition, a health and wellness nutrition company, has moved its global corporate headquarters to Phoenix, Ariz., a business climate favorable to existing employees and attracting new talent in all areas of operations.
"We are going to continue building upon our dedicated Costco office in Seattle and our manufacturing base in Los Angeles and are excited to announce our move to Phoenix. The rationale was simple. It was important to provide our existing and future employees a higher-quality of lifestyle, and Arizona is a pro-business community that provides our company a strong base to build upon for many years to come," said Rick Blair, president and CEO of Weider. "By making targeted investments in our supply chain, we have increased our capacity and efficiency by moving our inventory to warehouse facilities in the Phoenix area, and we have increased our exposure through social media, PR and advertising by hiring the Phoenix based advertising and public relations agency Zion & Zion. We are working with our in-house team and the Zion & Zion team to move our products into additional retail outlets across the country. Being the fifth largest metro area in the U.S., as well as being a major player in the health and wellness industry, we feel this move will allow us to be more responsive and efficient overall."
Weider Global Nutrition is part of the overall Weider branded business. Over the past year and a half, Weider has expanded its efforts into traditional grocery, mass and club stores. Weider is now channeling capital investments into the U.S. market. The company has added six new business managers over the last 18 months, and several of the new hires are based out of the new Phoenix headquarters.
The new office will be located in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert, off the San Tan Freeway. Weider recently also announced a new vice president, John Rizzo, who will be making sure that Weider builds on existing relationships with its consumer and retail partners as they look long-term to further define the Weider Brand strategy both in the U.S. and North America as a whole.
"As we grow, we will continue to reinvest capital in areas that help us expand the Weider brand. Weider will concentrate within the specialty nutrition category space. We have got a new home and a keener focus on how best to serve our customer base," said Blair. "We are in the perfect place to help customers manage their global supply chains. Our main area of focus now is a partnership with a major outlet in the convenient stores class of trade, and we are looking at the existing relationships with distribution channels and executing on a comprehensive marketing strategy for new products including Immune Shot™, an all-natural immune booster for the whole family; and Red Yeast Rice plus phytosterols, a cholesterol lowering supplement."
