Xigo Health to Host Marketing to Mom Panel at Expo East

Xigo Health will host an invitation-only breakfast event at Natural Products Expo East in Boston on October 15. Special programming will include a mom panel moderated by KIWI magazine publisher, Maxine Wolf. KIWI magazine is the leading natural and organic parenting publication focused on healthy family lifestyles.

Xigo, a natural supplement company dedicated to supporting the health of moms and their families, designed the event to bring first-hand information to retailers from moms about their purchasing preferences during cold and flu season.

For retailers, the $1.7 trillion mommy market is worth pursuing, however according to M2Moms, an authority on marketing to moms, 60 percent of mothers feel marketers are ignoring their needs and 73 percent feel advertisers don't really understand what it's like to be a mom.

“In today’s business climate it’s really important for companies like Xigo to support retailers in a meaningful way that will not only help product sales but will also provide the retailer tools to help them grow and better serve their best customers,” says Robert Craven, natural products industry expert and founder of LaunchNatural, a company working with Xigo during its launch into the marketplace. “Xigo’s focus is on moms so we want to bring mom into the conversation directly with retailers.”

KIWI’s network of 38,000 moms participate in the magazine’s Moms Meet program (http://www.greenmomsmeet.com) designed to give companies real-time feedback on natural or organic products entering the marketplace. The panel at Xigo’s event will include some of KIWI’s Mom Ambassadors, who lead 5-250 member Moms Meet groups on a regular basis. Wolf will guide the discussion among the moms and also share her personal experience of her own daughter’s horrifying swine flu episode last year.

“Flu season is a scary time for parents and every year there are more factors to consider,” says Wolf. “Not all moms think alike. There are many situations and unique experiences that can influence mom’s purchasing decisions.”

Xigo’s special event will be held at Boston’s historic Hampshire House, a turn-of-the-century mansion on Beacon Hill, and will include a natural and organic breakfast, live music and an intimate networking opportunity.
