Olive Lifesciences publishes coleus review

Review describes well-established food and traditional use of coleus, phytochemical information, biological effects and safety assessment in both animals and humans.

Olive Lifesciences, one of the leading exporter of coleus extract, in support of an author from College of Health and Biomedicine, Victoria University, Australia, published a review article on the benefits and safety of coleus in Journal of Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine.

The review describes well-established food and traditional use of coleus, its phytochemical information, biological effects and coleus safety assessment in both animals and humans. The published review covers up-to-date ethnopharmacological, phytochemical and pharmacological information of Coleus forskohlii, approaching toward its safety and therapeutic perspective, said Dr. Shiv Ph.D. (H N Shivaprasad), one of the authors of the manuscript.

Currently, Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia, is evaluating appetite suppressant properties associated with Olive’s Coleus forskohlii extract in overweight and obese individuals of Australian population. Victoria University is the primary sponsor of the study.
