OmniActive hosts curcumin session at HiE

OmniActive Insights will make its Health Ingredients Europe debut with an educational session entitled “CurcuWIN: Advances in Curcumin Bioavailability.”

OmniActive Insights™ will make its Health Ingredients Europe (HIE) debut with an educational session entitled “CurcuWIN™: Advances in Curcumin Bioavailability.” Presented by Lynda Doyle, MBA, MS Human Nutrition, the discussion will focus on the complex matter of absorption and provide a side-by-side comparison of enhanced curcumin products along with the latest science surrounding curcumin. The session will be held at the Seminar Session Theater, on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 15:00 to 15:25.

Curcumin is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and has been extensively studied for its role in regards to various risk factors and disease conditions. However, curcumin has poor bioavailability. As consumer interest about curcumin’s undeniable benefits grows, so does the need for a highly bioavailable source.

“It’s a very exciting time for curcumin. Science is building, consumer interest and awareness are rising and it’s not surprising to see curcumin ranked among the fastest growing supplements,” said Lynda Doyle, vice president of global marketing, OmniActive. “Curcumin touts many health benefits based on its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential, and today’s savvy consumers who are trying to maintain quality of life well beyond what individuals could hope for decades ago look to natural, food-based supplements as part of their healthy lifestyles.”

OmniActive will also showcase innovative ingredient offerings including Lutemax® Free Lutein and Lutein Esters, VisionVitalize™ Eye Health Ingredients with Premium Lutein, OmniXan® RR-Zeaxanthin, Capsimax® Capsicum Extract, and CurcuWIN™ Curcumin with Enhanced Absorption.

For more information on this session or to schedule an appointment with OmniActive Health Technologies during HIE 2014, contact Lynda Doyle at [email protected] or visit us at booth #H60.
