New documentary reveals GMO dangers

Jeffrey Smith, non-GMO advocate and author of the book Seeds of Deception (Yes! Books, 2003) is now educating on GMOs with a new documentary. “Genetic Roulette: The Gamble of Our Lives,” explores the brief and tumultuous history of biotech science, and outlines how genetically modified crops have come to encompass massive percentages of our agricultural system.

The film also delves into the dire health effects GMOs can cause—and have caused—in humans. “I had been speaking to medical conferences for six years and knew that thousands of doctors were prescribing non-GMO diets,” Smith told Organic Connections.

“When I brought a video camera to one of the medical conferences, the doctors were extremely bold in stating not only that GMOs caused certain diseases and disorders but that when the patients switched to non-GMO diets, they would improve on a wide variety of ailments and often very quickly.”

The film’s release is timely, as California’s vote to label GMOs (Prop 37) is just a month away. Read more in Organic Connections.
