FDA Cracks Down on Silver Sites
Washington, D.C.The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has charged 16 Web sites with illegally promoting the dietary supplement colloidal silver as a drug. In letters to these online companies, FDA said the sites make unauthorized therapeutic claims plugging colloidal silver as an antibiotic, antifungal or burn treatment. Many of these products may be legally marketed as dietary supplements or cosmetics once sites remove the health claims.
