Love Your Liver
The liver...
- is the largest internal organ
- weighs about three pounds
- can regenerate its own tissue
- is located behind the lower ribs on the right side of the abdomen
- manufactures new body proteins and prevents shortages in bodily fuel
- regulates blood clotting and transport of fat stores
- aids the digestive process by producing bile
- controls the production and excretion of cholesterol
