Rosae Flos

Name of Drug: Rosae flos, rose flower.

Composition of Drug: Rose flower consists of the dried petal of Rosa gallica L., R. centifolia L. [Fam. Rosaceae], and their variations, collected prior to fully unfolding, as well as its preparations in effective dosage. The herb contains tannins.

Uses: Mild inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

Contraindications: None known.

Side Effects: None known.

Interactions with Other Drugs: None known.

Dosage: Unless otherwise prescribed: 1-2 g of drug per cup (200 ml) of water for tea.

Mode of Administration: Comminuted herb for teas and other galenical preparations for mouth rinses.

Action: Astringent.
