Center For Mind-Body Medicine Offers Nutrition Training
Responding to an increasing awareness by practitioners and patients of nutrition's role in the prevention and treatment of chronic illness, the Center for Mind-Body Medicine is sponsoring an accredited nutrition training program in June. "Food As Medicine: Integrating Nutrition into Clinical Practice and Medical Education" will take place June 39 at the Snow King Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
Designed for healthcare professionals, the program will introduce clinical nutrition into mainstream medicine. "We believe that most physicians have little idea how to counsel patients on nutrition," says Susan B. Lord, M.D., course director. The curriculum will integrate analysis of science supporting nutritional interventions with hands-on experiences such as yoga and eating healthy food. The cost of the program is $1,750.
