Qualitas Health's founder and chief technology officer, Dr. Isaac Berzin, will be sharing his expertise in a panel presentation called "Omega-3 Innovation: Application, Price and Sustainability" at the upcoming NEXT Innovation Summit March 6 in Anaheim, Calif.
Moderated by Todd Runestad, editor-in-chief of Engredea and Functional Ingredients magazine, the panel presentation will also include Adam Ismail, executive director of GOED, and Dr. Hector Lopez, chief medical officer and principal for the Center for Applied Health Sciences.
Berzin is a renowned pioneer the algae industry, who has deep experience in the development of large-scale algae cultivation systems. Berzin’s work on algae biotechnology placed him on Time magazine’s Top 100 People in the World for 2008. In 2011, he founded Qualitas Health to develop high-value food supplements and pharmaceutical ingredients based on omega-3 oils from a vegetarian, sustainable algal source. The company’s flagship product, Almega PL, is a vegetarian, sustainable, EPA-rich polar-lipid structured omega-3 oil from algae.
