Randal Kreienbrink, director of marketing at BI Nutraceuticals, has received the designation of Certified Food Scientist (CFS) from the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). Kreienbrink, who has more than 25 years of experience in the food sciences industry, is BI’s second employee to receive this designation. This new program was created in response to industry demand for a certification that could help differentiate individuals and their applied knowledge in food science.

“BI has always strived to be at the forefront of issues and trends impacting not only the dietary supplement indstury, but also the functional food and beverage markets,” noted George Pontiakos, president and CEO of BI Nutraceuticals. “Having two colleagues be part of the inaugural class of CFS recipients further affirms our extensive expertise in food science and formulation.”

Kreienbrink and BI Food Technologist Alison Raban will be honored for their accomplishments at the Opening General Session of the IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo July 14 in Chicago. Additionally, both will be on hand to meet attendees and discuss BI’s more than 200 GRAS ingredient offerings duing the show at the company’s booth #1056.
