Alison Raban, a food technologist charged with product development and creating custom solutions for BI Nutraceuticals’ food and beverage clients, has received the designation of Certified Food Scientist (CFS) from the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). This new program was created in response to industry demand for a certification that could help differentiate individuals and their applied knowledge in food science. Raban is a member of the inaugural class of CFS recipients.

"This credential further underscores Alison's extensive expertise in food and beverage product development and understanding of the most recent science and technological advancements in food science," stated Randal Kreienbrink, vice president of marketing for BI Nutraceuticals. "Her commitment to furthering her knowledge and skills in food technology is immensely beneficial to BI's food and beverage customers."

To maintain CFS certification, individuals must complete 75 hours of continued education every five years to ensure they are current on the latest developments in food science.

Alison's expertise spans both the QA/QC and R&D areas and she has a unique understanding of the most pressing challenges impacting today's food and beverage manufacturers.
