Bioenergy Life Science hires East Coast sales director

Bioenergy Life Science Inc. has announced that William Visser has joined the Minneapolis-based company as regional sales director, East Coast. Visser’s major responsibilities will be to expand the use of ribose in the eastern half of the country, and to work with Bioenergy Life Science customers to improve sales and marketing cooperation.

Visser possesses more than 13 years of experience in the nutraceutical industry. He brings keen product knowledge and a consistent sales track record to this position, having previously served as East Coast Regional Manager for Westco Fine Ingredients, where he grew territory sales from $650,000 to $5.5 million. Prior to that, he held key sales management positions with Stryka Botanics, Buckton Scott Nutrition and American Ingredients/Pharmachem Labs. Visser, who earned a business management degree from Upsala College in East Orange, N.J., began his professional career as a retail merchandiser for Pezrow Corp. Food Brokers.

“Bill is a strategic thinker and a visionary leader whose industry knowledge will be an advantage to our customers. His proven ability to nurture long-term customer relationships will be an asset to Bioenergy Life Science as the nutraceutical industry seeks to fortify more products with the only patented, GRAS-affirmed ribose,” commented Bioenergy Life Science President Tom VonderBrink.

Bioenergy Ribose, a five-carbon monosaccharide, is a functional ingredient that is gaining the attention of food, beverage and supplement manufacturers. Unlike most sugars which fuel energy recycling, Bioenergy Ribose drives energy maintenance and recovery by making energy compounds and keeping them in muscle cells. It has a negative glycemic index and does not raise blood sugar levels. An all-natural substance, Bioenergy Ribose presents a broad spectrum of opportunities. It has a slightly sweet taste, and is highly soluble in hot or cold solutions, allowing for easy incorporation into the formulations of a variety of nutritional products.
