Blue Giant hires business development manager

Blue Giant Equipment Corp. is pleased to welcome Gerard O’Leary as business development manager for Blue Giant-Australia. Demand for Blue Giant dock equipment continues to grow in the Australian market, and Gerard (Gerry) will be responsible for supporting dealers and expanding sales throughout the country.

“We are thrilled to welcome Gerry to the business development team,” says Jeff Miller, Blue Giant’s vice president of sales and marketing. “The combination of his product expertise and strong relationships in the marketplace will contribute to Blue Giant’s continued success in Australia.”

Gerry O’Leary has over 30 years’ experience in the material handling industry. In 1991 he established O’Leary’s Material Handling Services, which specialized in sales and servicing of hydraulic tail lifts, waste equipment and Blue Giant docking equipment. After developing the company into a thriving business, employing twenty-seven staff and ten service vehicles, he left in late 2011 to start up OLTIS Australia, a new venture that offers employee training and equipment inspections / audits to help businesses comply with Australian regulations.

Steve Greco, director of national accounts at Blue Giant, says: "Gerry has always maintained a healthy relationship with Blue Giant, so we’re pleased to have him on the team. We anticipate that his industry knowledge and experience will strengthen Blue Giant’s market position and distribution network further.” Greco also adds, “By having a local presence now, we can service our customer base more effectively and efficiently while supporting Gerry’s efforts from our head office in Canada.”
