DianaPlantSciences is pleased to announce the addition of Darren Gilbert as business development manager for North America.  His responsibilities will include sales and marketing along with developing strategic alliances within the personal care and nutraceutical industries. A primary emphasis will be to introduce ingredients produced from plant cell culture technology, a sustainable, non-GMO method for producing whole-cell plant actives. Cocovanol™ Cocoa Powder is the first ingredient to be commercialized based on the technology and features a high flavanol content while being substantially free of caffeine and theobromine.

"We're delighted to have Darren join the team at DianaPlantSciences," said Marc Philouze, president with DianaPlantSciences. "He brings the experience necessary to realize the opportunities with plant cell culture as a viable, sustainable and effective ingredient technology."

Mr. Gilbert will be responsible for launching new brands produced through plant cell culture technology as well as developing partnerships with companies that seek to produce novel ingredients through a research and development partnership with DianaPlantSciences.

Mr. Gilbert has been involved with specialty chemicals for almost 30 years and with the personal care industry for more than 20 years. His prior experiences include distributor management, new business development, product development and sales management. He holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering and a master’s of management in marketing, finance and economics from Northwestern University.
