Former chief financial officer at Amyris Inc. will join Elevance’s board of directors.

Elevance names Steven Mills to board

Elevance Renewable Sciences Inc. announced that Steven Mills, former chief financial officer at Amyris Inc., will join Elevance’s board of directors.

Mills has extensive experience in the fields of accounting, corporate finance, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Amyris in 2012, Mills served as senior executive vice president of performance and growth at Archer-Daniels-Midland Co. (ADM), a global agricultural commodity processing company. Previously, he served as ADM’s executive vice president and chief financial officer. Mills joined ADM in 1979, and served in various senior accounting and treasury roles, including 12 years as controller.

“Steve brings a depth of experience and understanding in finance and in the agriculture and chemicals industries. We are pleased to welcome him to our board of directors,” said Elevance CEO K’Lynne Johnson. “His knowledge is an asset as Elevance continues to supply customers through our joint venture with Wilmar International, and as we expand Elevance’s global production capabilities through our second world-scale biorefinery in Natchez, Miss.”

Mills is a director and a member of the audit committee of Black Hills Corp., a diversified energy holding company, and also serves on the boards of Illinois College, Kirby Medical Center and Hickory Point Bank & Trust. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Illinois College in Jacksonville, III.
