NBTY, a global manufacturer, marketer, distributor and retailer of vitamins and nutritional supplements, announced that it has appointed four senior executives to its management team who will spearhead strategic growth initiatives for the company’s branded businesses.
Andre Branch has joined NBTY as chief marketing officer, where he will lead consumer and customer marketing efforts, as well as focus on strategies to further build NBTY’s trusted and high-quality brands, including Nature’s BountyÂ®, Sundown NaturalsÂ®, Ester-CÂ®, SolgarÂ® and Osteo Bi-FlexÂ®. This will include developing the strategy, building brand and product roadmaps and developing a robust innovation pipeline that leverages consumer data, shopper insights and various media platforms. Andre brings more than 20 years of brand-building experience to the role from companies including Kraft Foods, Diageo and, most recently, L’Oreal.
Derek Bowen has been named senior vice president, general manager for vitamins, minerals, herbals and supplements (VMHS). Derek, who joins NBTY from Coty Beauty U.S., will be responsible for developing and executing strategic growth plans for all of NBTY’s US Nutrition VMHS brands, including Nature’s BountyÂ®, Sundown NaturalsÂ®, Osteo Bi-FlexÂ® and Ester-CÂ®, with full profit and loss accountability. As Senior VP of Marketing for Coty, Derek was responsible for managing volume and profit for the US Cosmetic and Fragrance portfolios. Derek has 20 years of experience in building and marketing well-known brands at strong consumer products companies such as Unilever, Sara Lee, Dial and P&G.
Bradley Charron was named senior vice president, general manager for sports and active nutrition. Brad will be responsible for developing and executing strategic growth plans for all the company’s sports and active nutrition brands, such as MET-RxÂ®, Pure ProteinÂ®, Body FortressÂ® and Balance BarÂ®, with full profit and loss accountability. Brad brings 15 years’ experience with him to NBTY, most recently with Chobani, where he served as their senior vice president of marketing. Prior to that, Brad held senior leadership positions with Under Armour, PepsiCo and Liz Claiborne.
Additionally, the company has promoted Jill Staib into a newly created position, vice president of strategic initiatives and private label. In this role she will focus on identifying and capturing value from both operational and market based opportunities and executing plans for NBTY’s private label business, among other things.
