Orgain adds industry veterans to executive team

Orgain, maker of doctor-created, ready-to-drink protein shakes and protein powders, has announced the expansion of its leadership team with the addition of Carter Elenz as president and Kristen Deshaies as chief marketing officer. Elenz and Deshaies bring vast experience within the natural and organic products industry to their new roles at Orgain, and were tapped to help drive strategic growth for the brand as it prepares to announce new innovation, expand retail distribution, and accelerate consumer outreach. 

“Carter and Kristen both demonstrated a critical understanding of how to continue the momentum Orgain has built in terms of sales strategy, product marketing, and brand building for our ready-to-drink protein shake and powder categories,” said Dr. Andrew Abraham, founder of Orgain. “We’ve been doubling year-over-year sales, and I’m thrilled to have them on board as we enter a further accelerated period of growth for our expanding portfolio of organic nutritional products.”

Elenz brings to Orgain extensive leadership experience with top-tier, like-minded health and wellness brands. A well-respected executive in the natural food space with a stellar reputation as a strategist, team builder and leader, Elenz will be responsible for driving strategic growth and new distribution channels in his new role at Orgain. Prior to joining Orgain, he held roles with Seventh Generation as chief operating officer, Stonyfield Farm as senior vice president, Garden Burger as vice president, and at the Quaker Oats Co. as director. Elenz also holds board of director and advisor roles for Rustic Crust and Sensia Beverage Co.

With more than 17 years’ experience with iconic CPG brands Deshaies brings a mix of passion and high-level brand management and marketing experience to her role at Orgain.  With a proven track record for building strong brands, and creating lasting consumer connection and advocacy, Deshaies previously served as vice president of marketing for Stonyfield Farm, and also held positions with category leaders, which included senior director of marketing for Seventh Generation and senior brand manager for Ben & Jerry’s.
