In the spirit of becoming healthy, consumers are expecting more and therefore as a retailer, I expect more out of brands in regards to product innovation, quality, and labeling. I would like to see more products that are voluntarily labeled non-GMO and offer higher amounts of true nutrition versus what I term “song and dance” nutrition. It is time to get real and I am looking forward to seeing what they have to offer.

I would love to see booths designed with a clear "consumer" experience in mind. There are so many booths to visit and those that catch my eye are the ones that provide something interactive that makes you want to stop and spend time with them—a la Little Duck Organics' Skee-Ball Booth.

We look for new brands (and to add to existing lines) from companies that have the credentials in ingredients and manufacturering that meet our standards. Our buyers interact daily with customers on the sales floor so we have a grasp of what is truthfully "trending." We make a list of vendors we want to make contact with so we can see products in person. Doing homework beforehand really helps with time management at the show.
