ABF acquires Mexican oils and fats brands

Associated British Foods, the international food, ingredients and retail group has signed an agreement to acquire Unilever's food oils and fats brands in Mexico for USD 110 million in cash.

Capullo is one of Mexico's leading brands of canola oil. Also part of the deal is the corn oil brand Mazola and the shortening fat brand Inca. According to a Unilever statement, these three brands achieved sales of USD 4 million in 2003 in Mexico.
