ADM Announces Management Appointments

DECATUR, Ill., Oct 13, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) announced today the following management appointments:

Steven Furcich has been named President-IMC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ADM. Last week, ADM announced its purchase of Lesaffre's 50% interest in International Malting Company (IMC).

Mr. Furcich joined the Company in 1981, and has had responsibilities in several operations management positions including Vice President-Operations for Global Oilseed Processing, Cocoa and Feed divisions. Mr. Furcich most recently served as President-ADM Natural Health & Nutrition division. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural engineering from the University of Illinois.

Janice K. Binger has been named President-ADM Natural Health & Nutrition division. In this role, she will be responsible for the vitamin E, sterols and isoflavone businesses. She will be located in Decatur, Illinois.

Ms. Binger joined the Company in 2002, most recently serving as Vice President-ADM Natural Health & Nutrition with responsibilities for global sales and development of new products for ADM's nutrition business. Prior to joining ADM, Ms. Binger was Vice President-Corporate Development for SPI Holdings and Vice President-Sales and Marketing for SPI Polyols, Inc. In addition to global responsibilities for sales and marketing, she managed acquisitions, joint ventures and technology licensing. Prior to SPI, she also served in senior management roles for sales and marketing at ICI Americas Inc. Ms. Binger received a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition from the University of Utah and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Willamette University College of Law.
