AHCC Manufacturer Wins Prestigious Japanese Patent Award

Amino Up Chemical Co., Ltd., Recognized by Japan Patent Office

SAPPORO, JAPAN, April 20, 2004 -- Amino Up Chemical Co., Ltd., manufacturers of the popular immune-enhancing ingredient Active Hexose Correlated Compound (AHCC®), was awarded the prestigious Intellectual Property Award from the cabinet minister of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan. The Japan Patent Office (JPO) presented the award to Mr. Kenichi Kosuna, president of Amino Up, on April 16, 2004, in Tokyo, Japan.

The award, established in 1987, is traditionally given every year on April 18, “Invention Day,” in Japan. It recognizes individuals and companies who use the patent system effectively and are dedicated to the expansion of intellectual property. Since its establishment in 1984, Amino Up has been focusing on the patent-feasibility to develop and manufacture its original, natural products including plant growth regulator and functional foods such as AHCC and Genistein Combined Polysaccharide (GCPTM).
