AIBMR Introduces Supplement Regulation Training Program on

TACOMA, Washington – AIBMR Life Sciences Inc. announced the launch of the "AIBMR Dietary Supplement Regulatory Compliance Course" available at The training program is designed to provide a working knowledge of FDA regulations for dietary supplements under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA).

"Anyone who manufacturers, markets or distributes dietary supplements should understand the requirements of DSHEA," said Alex Schauss, Ph.D., director of natural and medicinal products research at AIBMR Life Sciences. "The law has many facets that apply to claims, labeling, new ingredient notification and other key requirements."

The online training program covers the following areas:

  • Definition of the term "dietary supplement."
  • Explanation of the various types of claims, including health claims, disease claims, structure-function claims and nutrient content claims.
  • Definition and proper use of third-party literature.
  • Explanation of requirements for new dietary ingredients including FDA notification requirements.

The course is available online and features a comprehensive explanation of DSHEA, an online test and automated grading. Upon successful completion of the course, individuals receive a Certificate of Completion issued by AIBMR Life Sciences and the National Training Institute (NTI).
