Aker BioMarine Antarctic AS welcomes Arne Speybrouck as Business Director for European Sales where he will be working with the sales and marketing team to develop Superba(TM) Krill supplements in Europe.  Mr. Speybrouck has extensive background in the nutritional supplement and pharmaceutical industries, most recently working with Capsugel EU, where he was active with Krill and the LiCaps(TM) technology.

"This is an exciting new position for me, as I strongly believe Krill is one of the major new ingredients with a bright future and untapped potential," said Speybrouck, "Aker BioMarine leads the category by investing heavily in scientific studies to support health benefits of omega-phospholipids.  This, with a strong commitment to sustainability, and a world-class team of colleagues with the highest scientific, regulatory and manufacturing standards makes Aker BioMarine an excellent choice."

He is a respected industry participant, having served as a board member of HFMA (Healthfood manufacturers Association UK), ERNA (European responsible nutrition alliance) and EBF (European botanical forum) and other associations.

"We are pleased to have Arne join our team," added Roar Hernes, VP Sales Europe.  "His passion, experience and strong scientific background make him a tremendous asset."

Speybrouck has earned several degrees in the field, including a Master's in Biotechnology with distinction, and a Master's in Environmental Sciences.  After starting his career with five years in research, he decided to engage in a career combining science and commerce.  He continues this practice by teaching health practitioners, doctors, and pharmacists on natural medicine and phytotherapy for the past 7 years.
