Australian Consumers Association Tests Echinacea Products - Questions Efficacy

A study by the The Consumers Association in Australia has determined that of ten off the shelf echinacea products tested, not one had enough active ingredient to be in any way effective in boosting immune function. Typically standard marker compounds are tested for, including alkylamides and cichoric acid and in the products tested, low levels and variability were observed.
