Benecosanol(tm) - Rice Bran Policosanol - Reaches the Market

IRVINE, California, April 2, 2002 - Cyvex Nutrition, developer and distributor of innovative nutraceutical ingredients, announced the introduction of Benecosanol™, a 95% Policosanol, manufactured in the United States from rice bran wax.

Clinical studies have shown that policosanol works by inhibiting the liver’s production of cholesterol and leads to lower production of LDL (bad cholesterol) and greater production of HDL (good cholesterol). Overall cholesterol reduction ranges from 15-20%. In addition, the studies show that policosanol inhibits abnormal platelet aggregation, reduces complications in people with coronary heart disease and increases endurance during exercise.

Cyvex Nutrition is currently offering two forms of Benecosanol™, a 50% and a 30% Octacosanol, the active ingredient in policosanol.

Cyvex Nutrition, of Irvine, CA has pioneered the development and production of superior quality nutritional ingredients since 1984.
