BI Nutraceuticals' Product Manager, Angela Dorsey-Kockler, R.D., will discuss functional health benefits of botanicals as part of the Health Issues education track at the Institute of Food Technologists' (IFT) Wellness 11 Conference at the InterContinental Chicago O'Hare in Rosemont, Ill.
Dorsey-Kockler's session "Spices, Herbs and GRAS Botanicals: A Natural Fountain of Functional Health" will run from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23.
Session attendees will hear Dorsey-Kockler's overview of the world of botanicals, including discussion of botanical sourcing, harvesting and manufacturing. She will also share how botanicals can support functional health platforms, focusing on digestive health, heart health and improved cognition. Other speakers in the session are David Heber, PhD., M.D., UCLA Center for Human Nutrition and Diego Serrano, McCormick & Co., Inc.
Dorsey-Kockler's experience as a Registered Dietitian in the food and nutrition industry spans the public health, sales, and marketing arenas. As product manager for BI Nutraceuticals, she manages a large portfolio of botanical herbs and nutritional ingredients, positioning them for both the food and dietary supplement markets. She holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
