According to Rick Kulow, President/CEO, “based on the company’s performance and strong balance sheet, Bioriginal’s Board of Directors has given management a clear mandate to very aggressively pursue strategic opportunities – including new markets, new products, and potential acquisitions”.
To facilitate implementation of this strategic direction, Joe Vidal, currently CFO and VP Operations for Bioriginal Corporate, has been promoted to additional responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer for Bioriginal, North America. Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Quality Assurance for Bioriginal’s core business will now report to Vidal as COO. In his role as CFO, Vidal has also been charged with assembling and developing a multi-disciplinary acquisitions team.
Mike Fedoroff, formerly of Corning Cable Systems, has been appointed Vice President of Operations, North America, reporting to Vidal. Fedoroff will be responsible for overseeing the development, scale-up, manufacturing, and distribution of Bioriginal’s core products.
Further management additions under Vidal include Barry Skorobohach as Quality Manager, Randy Ellis as Manager of Crop Production, and Grant Whitmore as a vital member of Bioriginal’s Crop Production team.
To facilitate Bioriginal’s strategic entry into new markets and new products, Jerome Konecsni’s responsibilities as Vice President of Corporate Development have been elevated to include operating responsibility for Bioriginal’s expansion into the pharmaceutical and functional food markets. In addition, Mr. Konecsni will continue to oversee intellectual property and R&D, including Bioriginal’s laboratories at the National Research Council. Arun Bhargava has been added to Bioriginal’s functional food team as Project Manager under Konecsni.
Since 1993, Bioriginal has grown to be the world’s leading supplier of essential fatty acids, with a distribution network that spans six continents and includes offices in Canada, Europe and China.
