BIOSTAR launches the First International Nutrient Library for the Nutriceutical Industry

A future cornerstone for better health products

San Mateo, Calif., March 9, 2002 --BIOSTAR Nutriceuticals is launching NutrientNetworkLibrary -- the first international nutrient library for the nutriceutical industry. The library has been established to expedite the development of better health products and to be a reliable source for nutriceutical scientists to educate and promote good nutrition and health throughout the world.

This expansive resource with scientific information and real-time research will be available free to anyone wanting to learn about how they can improve their health through proper nutrition or for companies wishing to develop effective products supported by solid science. This is an industry library that is developed for the nutriceutical industry. It is not owned by any individual company, but by all those in the industry who participate in the NutrientNetworkLibrary.

The NutrientNetworkLibrary is constantly being expanded and updated. New research, clinical trials, new products, and articles are continuously being added. Currently, in its first phase of development, there are over 2,600 product families represented in the NutrientNetworkLibrary by Product Catalog Sheets. Each Product Catalog Sheet contains pertinent information on each product family. Phase two, which is in development, will allow access to the references and science within the NutrientNetworkLibrary.

When reviewing the NutrientNetworkLibrary, you will notice that the current Library is still under construction. Although nutrients have been with us from the beginning of time, it has not been until recently that we have been able to study and expand the field of nutriceutical science.

The NutrientNetworkLibrary is built by professionals from the nutriceutical research community within a Collaborative Strategic Partnership Environment. Any qualified professional, researcher, or company can participate in developing the NutrientNetworkLibrary. BIOSTAR will be an overseer to verify the accuracy of the data and maintaining the highest standards. Any new information or changes are submitted to the NutrientNetworkLibrary Librarian who reviews the information and may request additional substantiation. The submission is then reviewed by the Scientific Advisory Board. Qualified professionals can register and participate in the NutrientNetworkLibrary by signing on at www.nutrientnetwork.com.

Richard Merriam, President of BIOSTAR said that, “our goal for those professionals involved in developing the NutrientNetworkLibrary is to build the most comprehensive nutriceutical database open to any individual, company, or government seeking knowledge about specific nutrients or health conditions and to maintain this portal to educate and promote good nutrition and health throughout the world".
