Canada's Largest Natural Health and Organic Products Expo Offers Tips on Going Green

TORONTO, ON – August 8, 2007 – Canada's largest conference and trade show for the natural health and products sector is leading the way in providing information to attendees on how to raise their green profile in the community.

The Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) presents Expo East, September 6-9, 2007, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto where visitors have the opportunity to attend two days of conference workshops (September 6-7), but also the chance to see the latest developments in the natural health and organic industry at the largest expo of its kind in the country (September 8-9). New this year is a full day of workshops on how to be a green business leader by incorporating solutions that reduce environmental impact.

Presenter, Don Smith, should know. Smith will present a case history of his natural food store, Foodsmiths, September 6 at 1 pm, which won the retailer in Lanark County an environmental stewardship award in July. Not only did Smith install a solar powered hot water heating system, high efficiency refrigeration units, CFC lighting, and utilize compost waste units, his store pays its customers to recycle empty vitamin and supplement bottles!

The conference and trade show has grown to reflect the increasing consumer interest in health and wellness. Expo East ranked 31st in 2006, up from 43rd in 2004, in the top 50 largest trade shows in Canada, according to U.S. industry publication, Tradeshow Week.

Expo East brings together growers, manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and importers in the natural health and organic product industry who are involved in a variety of industry sub-sectors such as vitamin and mineral supplements, herbal products, homeopathics, sports nutrition products, natural and organic foods, fibres and health and beauty aids.

The trade show will occupy Halls A, B, and C in the North Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre with feature over 500 exhibiting companies. Visit the CHFA website for details at www.chfa.ca.
