Cargill H&FT Launches AdvantaSoy Isoflavone and OptaFlex Chondroitin Sulfate at SupplySide West

OptaFlex™ First North American-Sourced, Solvent-Free Chondroitin Sulfate

MINNEAPOLIS – December 2, 2002 – Cargill Health & Food Technologies (H&FT) officially will introduce two breakthrough products at SupplySide West International Trade Show and Conference December 4-6, 2002, at the Venetian Hotel and the Sands Expo in Las Vegas.

OptaFlex™ – the first chondroitin sulfate that is made from North American raw material and is solvent-free – is a unique entry into the highly valuable chondroitin sulfate/glucosamine market. “We believe dietary supplement manufacturers will recognize the value to their products of a solvent-free premium chondroitin sulfate that is made from North American-sourced raw material,” said Ted Ziemann, president of Cargill Health & Food Technologies.
AdvantaSoy™ Compress™ high concentration soy isoflavones are specifically formulated for the dietary supplement industry. “AdvantaSoy™ Compress™ isoflavones, available in concentrations of 15-50%, are produced using our proprietary technology,” said Steve Snyder, director sales & marketing for Cargill Health & Food Technologies. “This product will allow supplement companies to capitalize on the positive trends in women’s health,” Snyder said.

To learn more about these products, visit the Cargill Health & Food Technologies booth #1316/1318 at SupplySide West. In addition, Roberta Rosenberg, H&FT’s consumer insight specialist, will be available for discussions on women’s health, heart health and energy on December 5th from 1-4 p.m.
