MINNEAPOLIS – Cargill is one of a limited number of corporate sponsors participating in the Mayo Clinic’s upcoming course, titled “Nutrition in Health & Disease,” to be held September 8-9, 2005 in Chicago. Designed for physicians, dietitians, nurses and pharmacists, the course will highlight common and challenging nutrition issues encountered in ambulatory and hospital settings.
Topics will include advances in the comprehensive management of obesity, nutrition supplements, and the role of nutrition and physical activity in disease prevention and management. Cargill representatives will be on hand to discuss with participants Cargill’s latest advances in supplements, as well as how emerging food technology trends are resulting in delicious foods and beverages that address many common health issues.
“Cargill is proud to be developing ingredients that help support healthier lifestyles,” said Ted Ziemann, president of Cargill Health & Food Technologies. “We want to demonstrate to the medical community that we understand the concerns facing today’s consumers, and we will continue to provide our expertise to help provide solutions through better nutrition.”
Cargill is accelerating its development of new health-promoting ingredients and ingredient systems to help food and beverage manufacturers develop consumer products that meet the dietary and nutritional recommendations included in the U.S. government’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005.
