Cellulight wins NuW Beauty Innovation of the Year

Company says the actual market of cosmetics products that fight cellulite is $3.5 billion but only few oral products are on the market today.

Bionov has been rewarded for the development and marketing of its ingredient Cellulight®. Cellulight has been recognized as the Beauty Innovation of the Year by the NuW Excellence Awards jury at the Health Ingredient Europe Show (Frankfort).

Cellulight was announced as the winner by UBM plc, main organizer of the Health Ingredients Europe event that took place at the Messe Frankfurt Nov. 13 to 15, 2012. The winners of the categories were announced at a drinks reception on Nov.13.

Chairman of judges Peter Wennstrom commented on behalf of the judges that: "BIONOV addresses a widely recognized problem and a clear need with an easily understandable benefit that is well supported and stems from a very accepted natural source–melons–and they also provide clear regulatory routes to market.”

“This award recognizes our innovation program for helping our customers in claims and differentiation on the market," said Benoit Lemaire, business and marketing director at Bionov. “Cellulight is the first active ingredient supported by oral clinical study allowing completely new messages to consumers. The actual market of cosmetics products fighting cellulite has been estimated by Elsevier Business Intelligence at $ 3.5 billion but only few oral products are on the market today. Now, Cellulight gives to our customers an access to this high value market,” he completed.

About Cellulight
Cellulight takes its benefits from melon fruit (Cucumis melo L.) and especially from the high superoxide dismutase (SOD) content of Bionov exclusive and proprietary variety, from which it is obtained. For the first time, a 100 percent natural and vegetal ingredient is introduced on the market with clinically demonstrated effects against cellulite by oral route.
