Chattem, multinational manufacturer of Dexatrim, signs agreement with Nutratech for the use of the Advantra Z trademark and patented claims

WAYNE, N.J., February 2, 2004 – Nutratech, Inc. – a research-based nutraceutical ingredient supplier – has entered into a non-exclusive license agreement with Chattem, the makers of the leading diet brand, Dexatrim®, for the use of the Advantra Z® trademark and patented claims on their Dexatrim Natural® and Dexatrim Results™ packaging and marketing material. More and more of the diet industry’s leaders, like Chattem, are entering into such agreements with Nutratech to use the widely respected and popular Advantra Z® trademark and patented claims of stimulating thermogenesis, reducing weight, increasing lean muscle to total body mass, improving athletic performance and suppressing appetite on their diet or sports nutrition product’s label and marketing material.

“Many companies, like Chattem, are conducting extensive R&D investigations and discovering that Advantra Z® is the only legitimate Citrus aurantium/bitter orange ingredient on the market that they feel comfortable putting into their natural, drug-free diet aids, such as Dexatrim Results™ Ephedrine Free formula and the Dexatrim Natural® No Caffeine and Ephedrine Free formulas,” states Bob Green, one of the principals of Nutratech. “Plus, our customers get the extra bonus of being able to utilize the patented claims on their label and marketing support material, which gives them a marketing advantage over their competition who may be purchasing the generic Citrus aurantium/bitter orange, and therefore, cannot legally make these claims, “ he adds.

Unlike generic counterparts on the market, most of the research on Citrus aurantium/bitter orange has been conducted using Advantra Z®, which utilizes optimal harvesting techniques and a proprietary extraction process to produce a truly unique synergistic amine composition. This complete composition of five synergistic adrenergic amines: synephrine, n-methyltyramine, hordenine, octopamine and tyramine is responsible for delivering the applications protected by U.S. Patent Nos. 6,224,873; 6,316,499; 6,340,481; 6,340,482 and the positive results found in the research.

“In light of all the negative press surrounding ephedra over the past several years and now with the impending ban in March, Nutratech has been inundated with requests for Advantra Z® by companies in the diet and sports nutrition industries who are clamoring to find an ideal thermogenic replacement for this controversial herb,” Green states. “With a lot of hard work, tremendous investment in research and lack of credible competition, Nutratech is now able to afford manufacturers of diet and sports nutrition products the opportunity to use the only true patented thermogenic replacement for ephedra (ma huang) on the market today,” he contends.

Nutratech, Inc. with headquarters in Wayne, NJ provides innovative, proprietary and patented nutraceutical ingredients with efficacy claims that are supported by sound scientific research.
