TORONTO, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - The National Olympic Sports Centre, a department of China's general administration of Sports, has selected Jamieson Laboratories as its exclusive provider of nutritional products for Chinese athletes. As part of their training regime, all athletes training at the National Olympic Sports Centre will be provided with Jamieson's premium quality supplements, including protein powder and multivitamins.
The National Olympic Sports Centre issued a statement in January announcing that Jamieson Laboratories would be the exclusive nutritional products company for the Centre. "Jamieson Laboratories' vitamins and nutritional supplements have been used by athletes around the world for many years," said Kevin Edwards, Vice President, Marketing, Jamieson Laboratories. "We are proud to be supporting Chinese athletes at the National Olympic Sports Centre, particularly as China gears up for its time on the sports world stage in 2008."
Jamieson's relationship with the National Olympic Sports Centre is part of its ongoing expansion into Asian markets, including China. Jamieson entered the Chinese market in 1999 and, in the past three years alone, sales have increased by nearly 400 per cent. Jamieson's plans are to continue to expand in China through increased distribution, aggressive sales plans and opportunities for increased awareness of the Jamieson brand through high profile partnerships like the one with the National Olympic Sports Centre.
