Compound Solutions Donates $10,000 for CoQ10 Analytical Standards

ESCONDIDO, Calif. (March 30, 2005) — Compound Solutions’ CEO, Barry Titlow, presented a check in the amount of $10,000 to Jim Bradford, Executive Director of the American Association of Analytical Chemists (AOAC) during the recent International Dietary Supplement Committee meetings at Natural Products Expo West trade show in Anaheim, California. Mr. Titlow is currently the chairman of AOAC’s CoQ10 standards committee chartered with adopting a globally accepted analytical standard for CoQ10. “The CoQ10 committee has been very productive in establishing unified global ingredient standards and testing protocols for this increasingly important nutraceutical. Our donation demonstrates Compound Solutions’ continuing focus on improving core practices affecting our industry.”

The AOAC CoQ10 standards committee has narrowed down a starting field of fifteen analytical methodologies for CoQ10 to one protocol, which in turn will be validated by eight different independent laboratories before formal adoption by AOAC. The committee hopes to have this testing and final protocol completed by September 2005.

The AOAC International Dietary Supplement initiative is partially funded by the National Institute of Health program to help establish unified analytical standards for numerous dietary supplement ingredients. AOAC’s costs to adopt analytical standards for a single ingredient exceed $150,000.
