(March 10, 2005, Silver Spring, MD) -- Lester Crawford, DVM, PhD, will go before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on Thursday, March 17, in a confirmation hearing on his nomination to be FDA Commissioner.
Crawford, who has been FDA’s acting commissioner since former Commissioner Mark McClellan moved to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in March 2004, was nominated to the post on February 15, 2005. Crawford also served as acting FDA commissioner from February to November 2002.
